Hear my tale. I am Nick Stead, once human but now cursed to walk this earth as a creature who is neither man nor wolf. I was only fifteen when the lycanthropy first took its hold, my hunger for human flesh eating away at the boy I had been until only a monster remained. There are those out there who would see that monster dead. Those who would rid the earth of my kind by any means necessary. Those who are still human, and yet every inch the monster I am. And now it seems I am the last surviving werewolf. But I will not quietly pass into extinction and fade from the memory of mortals like so many before me. I will not surrender myself to these men known as the Demon Slayers, no matter how bitter a struggle my cursed life may be. No, I will fight for as long as my primal fury burns within and my bloodlust remains strong. Yet the deaths of my enemies has never been quite enough to feed that need to kill born of the darkness of my own humanity, and given rise by the curse and lycanthropic rage. I have killed so many, and I will kill so many more before this tale is done. The lives of all those I have taken in cold blood still weigh on my conscience, or what remains of it, and I find myself burdened by them, even now. And I would share that burden with you.
